You know it's been 1,346 days since Sept 11. That's about the same number of days it took for the US to defeat Nazi Germany and the Japanese empire combined.
How's the war on Terra doing, Georgie?
- Mimio0
The US didn't beat the Germans or the Japanese all by themelves either. In fact we didn't do much of the fighting at all.
- ********0
Well, we did do the bulk in the Pacific Mimio. Had lots of help form the Russians in Europe for sure. But that wasn't my point...but then again we did have allies in that particular struggle.
George scared all our friendds away didn't he...

one word: a-bomb
- version30
my perspective:
any city could be halted with suicide bombers
subways, bridges, downtown traffic
5-8 suicide bombers would cripple this country for another 4 years easy
bush hires and trains suicide bombers personally
the amount of money siphoned off this "war" is enough for every NT member to retire richly and support their families for at least 5 generations to come
the only think making me happy is that GWB has to get out of office in 2008

2008 is too late.

(May 19 05, 10:45)well, we dropped a big fat bomb on the Japanese. There wasn't shit they could do. Drop 10 more and bye bye Japan as they knew it
- Mimio0
Dropping the bomb was a way to avoid fighting and still get what Truman wanted.

i wonder how things would be different if bush didn't "win" the last election.
- ********0
We didn't have ten more to drop at the time, and the Japanese were under pressure form the russians who had turned the tide on the mainland at that time too. Much like the Germans they felt it wise to surrender to us and not have to somehow chance surrendering to the russians at the time.
Still compare how the US banded together as a nation and overcame adversity at the time. Al Queda ain't Nazi Germany or the Japanese Empire. Heck Al-Queda ain't even Mussolini who couldn't fight himself out of a wet bag in ethiopa.

(May 19 05, 11:19)Not much actually. Apparently, Kerry wanted to send even more troops than what Bush did. Who knows? Hindsight is 20/20

weren't there like 4 times as many terrorist attacks last year than the year before?
I dont know anyone who thinks that this war in iraq was a good idea anymore. But I do know alot of people who did at the beginning. Bush voters have a character flaw.

mm..the military can't reach it's recruitment goals.
Why don't we round up all the baseball hat wearing frat boys and all them young republicans who were so gung ho for this venture and send them to Iraq? I mean they shouted me down and called me a pinko commie when I said "Iraq has nothing to do with 9-11." Maybe they could use some of that patriotic fervor and go fight for whatthey believe in? Or is that faded yellow magnetic support the troops ribbon stuck on the back of their SUV good enough?
What about the Bush twins? They're out of school and not really working from what I understand. Oh wait, they probably have "different priorities"...
- czsevenone0
The war on terror is bullshit the same way the war on drugs is.
It's all just a scheme for corrupt companies and govornments to make money and retain global power.
Without 911 we would not have Iraqs oil or Afghanistans land. Now they have Iran surrounded and soon they'll have Irans oil as well.
- ********0
Well, China might want a word with the Bushies on that one eventually...
