long story, but good.
one day, on a way to a party me and my buddy tried thinking up a way to fool everyone there. so we decided to say someone died. then we tried figuring out who. we settled upon clint eastwood died of a stroke.
we get to the party and break the news to everyone. it literally killed the mood of the party. you could just see peoples faces become dour when they heard the news. as the night progressed you just hear people saying things like 'man, i cant believe clint died. i wanna watch dirty harry now'. the next day, we decided to tell people it was fake, only we forget to tell some people who kept snowballing the rumor. so on monday we go into school and people were like 'you hear eastwood died?' and i would straightfaced say, no, i hadnt, thanks for telling me. over time, people found out it was fake except for one friend.
we were boozing in the woods with this kid and decided to fuck with him and be like 'dude, im still in shock over clint'. then he's like 'yeah man! he was the fucking man. im gonna go to blockbuster and rent a couple of his movies'.
so later that night we drive him to blockbuster. we wait in the car as he rents the movies. it takes the kid like 15 minutes. when he comes back, we are like 'dude, what the fuck took you so long?' and he was like 'well, i get to the counter with all the clint movies and the chick was like 'clint eastwood fan huh?' and i was like 'yeah, figured id rent these seeing as he died and all' and she was floored by the news. so i had to explain to her how and when. she says shes gonna find a way to pay tribute and thanked me for telling her.' so we all crack up and finally tell him its fake and he flips out. so we decide to go back to blockbuster the next day and wouldnt you know it, they had set up a fucking clint memorial right by the front desk! funniest thing i had ever witnessed.
so now whenever a new clint movie comes out or he is on tv everyone goes, 'i thought he was dead.'
