just using displacement - and I'm new to AE.
How do I key the x translate of the frame causing displacement?
Keying it's translate has no effect!
Would happily look this up, but it's it's already 12:30 and this shit's due morning time!
Please help :)

oooh wait - do I render out a sequence of the noise map translating across the screen, and then use that as the displacement in the original project?
- chossy0
are you using displacement map?.
- caulfield0
yeah, sure am. That way seems to work. But is there another way where I don't need to pre render anything?
- chossy0
yeah I don't eactly know what your problem is I just had a loo and it works fine,
hit keyframe move timeline adjust your X position and it seems ok here animates perfectly even tough it looks shite.

heh, tough love Chossy... as always!!
- chossy0
hey I've just thought have you made sure you have selected an adjustment map or is it set to none?.
- caulfield0
okay - i want to use layer A ( still image ) to displace layer B.
You're saying that if I key translation of A it will affect the displacement?
Maybe it's cos I'm in southern hemisphere?
- chossy0
if you want to displace B for example with A as the still image
put B below a in the timeline and then put the effect on B chosing A as the map voila.
- caulfield0
yeah I can get that to work, but animating the transorm doesn't affect the displacement. I dare you to try it...thanks for your help by the way :)
- chossy0
give me a minute pal.
- chossy0
hmm it's working fine here I'm sure it's something simple possibly layer order or the wrong map being selected.sorry I can't help you, I bet it's cause it's a dodgy copy you naughty.

ha wish it was, cos that would mean caulfield would be at home. But nay - I'm at work.
What am I thinking?
Thanks for the help though.
