i was at my Friends fathers funeral last week, some dude
A) took his phone to a FUCKIN funeral
B) didnt turn off his phone
it rang during my friend speaking about his dead dad
I could have punched this guy in his stupid farkin face, i wanted to hit him sOOO bad.

get this. i don't watch TV unless it's 24/arrested dev/simpsons.
so the other day, i'm watching 24 in the living room. then my roommate comes home. sits down next to me, opens her laptop, then brings out her cellphone, dials her parents and talk to them LOUD for a while.
i just couldn't believe her indescency so i turn up the volume just to be as rude as she is, then she starts talking louder, i turn up volume - basic cat and mouth chase.
eventually she got the clue and went to her room to talk.comes back, sits next to me on the couch, this time brings out PSP with volume not muted, starts playing lumina.
i have no more words to say.
she's either a deaf or a complete moron.

I'm surprised the whole industry and consumers haven't yet influenced the design of these things yet....it's obvious the cultural/social problems need to be addressed in the seign of the phones and the service themselves:
- You should be able to send messages to any phone near you using free short-range messaging, saying 'SSHH!' or 'STFU!'
- Lots of people sending 'shutup' messages to a phone would cause a big light (or the whole phone?) to glow red.
- Groups of people could shut down an offending user through interference...or even make their call more expensive, with a message like "You are currently pissing-off (12) people near you... Click here to continue anyway (surcharge applies)"
