Is it illegal to use these symbols on a logo if they are not Trademarked, Registered or Copyrighted?
With copyright, from being a band we used to copyright our songs by posting the demo tape to ourselves.
Can something similar be done for design?
Stupid question, I know.

can't use ™ or ® unless they are

You can use ™ on your own. The © and ®, you will need to officialy apply.

JazX is right. ™ can be used till you're official
- JazX0
you have to claim your stuff somehow right?
- jox0
Wait - © doesn't require anything. Everything you make is automatically copyrighted.

I did actually think © was ok to use, so ™ is best?
- brandelec0
ya i though © was all good cuz its yours, i though trademarks had to be registered
- JazX0
© is also ok I guess, but it can be officially done as well.

You can use ©, but trademarks have to be registered.

Interesting insight, what I wanted to do was use ™ as part of the logo, not really to interested in it beign registered, just part of the design.
