Why have they tampered with the Layers in Photoshop CS2!
The layer linking is rubbish now and the quick link to layer - via the apple key, seems to have been set to link to layer folders instead.

I agree and disagree.
The grouping aspect is nice. being able to simply click on layers and then apple G them into a folder is sweet. but there should have been a way to apple shift G or something to get the chance to name the folder in the same motion. But now it seems that once you click off the layers, they are no loger linked. So you have to do it all the time if you don't want them to commit to a folder. unless I'm missing something.

I find it annoying opening old psd files that have been already organised.
For example, for a complex web design layout with loads of layers, it is very useful to be able to link directly to the graphical element's layer, by holding down the apple key and click on the element on the stage. Seen as though all the psd files I have are organised in folders - all it does now is link to the folder, unless I crtl click and go through a sub menu to find the right layer (which of course you'd have had to spent time naming of course)

you should definitely get into the habbit of naming every layer and folder. It really helps.
but good points Kevincoffey.
