i don't get whats the hype about the DS dual screen... touch screen is good idea... but the dual screen is useless.
if u want "dual" screan on PSP.. put a black tape in the middle of the huge screen.. then u got 2 screen thats is bigger then DS. the one difference is its not vertical like DS.
the game designers for DS has so far not doing any creative with it... all they use for it is for huge menu's or option screens.. it bad design.. i don't need all the detal info when i play the game... unless its somekind of strategy game.

If they can get MAME on a PSP then that would be something.

100% grade A bull plop. 10 seconds into it I couldn't even pretend it was real.

surely someone didn't do that for fun.. there must be some truth to it.. I know Nintendo are really gonna have something different this time around not just innovative like they usually are but something that will change the way we play videogames.. this video is a cool idea whether its real or not.. I hope it is.

It looks like something from the demo-scene. Not knocking the demo scene, but Nintendo didnt do it, thats for sure.

it aint real, aparently someone did it for fun. like the zoom out of all those castles- good work imo.
the helmet idea aint gonna work though. we aint ready for that shit yet.

RANDOMAN! i couldn't agree with you more...you took the words right out of my mouth...yes.

quamb... actually we are ready for something like that. The technology is there and has been for several years now.
Wether or not it would be fun is another issue. Hey, come to think of it Nintendo took at stab at this sorta thing already with the Virtual Boy, albeit not exactly your ideal VR setup.. and with all those kids getting motion sick for those strange, red LCD's... ehhh. And wtf was with wario.. just weird.
- quamb0
didnt mean we aint ready in terms of technology. we aint ready in terms of people actually going out there, purchasing akward goggles or a helmet, then putting that on your head to play games.
ie- itd be pretty intense and extremely dorky.
most folk just wanna relax and sit back on the couch.

right, agreed.
One thing I've been thinking of that wuld be cool is if you revamped those laser-tag type places with VR equiptment.
Meaning that you build 3d maps based off of the environment of the place (a 1:1 scale with the physical environment). So within the game, you see full on 3D world and naviagate just as you would in real life (walking, running, turning head, etc.) but what you see could really be anything you could design in 3d... run into a wall or other player in the game and you knock into it physically as well. This would be really nice.
With the density and size of LCD;s now (they can squeeze high def in such a little screen... and stereographic images using two screens (at one per eye) it would be a really sick experience.

it could have been a demo, but that would be a lot of work for a demo... especially the castle scene, creating the helmet concept console, and the scene at the end where they show mario in a game scene.
i wouldn't doubt nintendos involvement on this, but it could be a parody of themselves, after which they will totally exceed everyones expectations.
playstation did this a few years ago with their 'playstation 9' ads. remember those?
