basic flash question

i've got a symbol on a timeline doing a bunch of stuff with multiple keyframes. i'd like to use the SWAP SYMBOL button to change this symbol into something else.
question: is there a way to do this for ALL the keyframes on the layer without individually clicking on each keyframe and swapping?

just update the symbol maybe?

updating the symbol would work, but i want to keep the existing symbol as is for a different movieclip.
basically, i've got like 5 movieclips and i want them to do the SAME thing, but with DIFFERENT symbols. if that makes sense, is there a better way to acocmplish this??

just download macromedia exchange and load the .mxp as an action

great! loaded the .mxp, ran the script, but got this error:
Could not find the symbol you wish to swap to in the library!
the symbol is right there in the library. i'm looking at it. this seems like a great took if it could work!

you using mx2004?

i figured it out! i had the symbols in a folder and apparantly this script doesn't like folders. besides for that, this is SUPER!
