Weeeeeeeelllll, I have to say I am actually jealous of you. But you could be fibbing or some sh*t. If not, have a good time, that's a great show. Do a bootleg recording with a Sony MD or somethin'.
- airey0
enjoy! apparently they are awesome live.
- Mal0
NY show was good.
- superbaka0
how old are you guys? ae is like, so 90s.
- auricom0
damn....highly jealous.....
so 90's my ass. i'm 27. ha.
- superbaka0
dude they lost it after chiastic slide. hearing tri repatae live, that was sweet. but now they are just scamming you. imho, the microsound scene totally evolved their sound and they got left behind.
- JazX0
wow@!

i have to agree with superbaka. i saw ae last tuesday. it was my first time, and i wasn't actually as impressed as i thought i would be. maybe it was the quality of the venue, and being numb from seeing too many laptop techno shows. but i've seen more interesting laptop based shows with some more interesting sound manipulation.
but now i can say i saw autechre live. :P

superbaka, who cares?
btw, prefuse73 @ emptybottle tomorrow in chi

ahh superbaka, one day you'll understand the concept of personal choice. that day the weight of peer-pressure and trying so damn hard to sound cutting edge will lift from your drooping shoulders and you can enjoy whatever the hell you like without having to refer to whatever styleguide is hip (for $32.50 including tax)...
enjoy whatever you like and love the gig man! personally my favourite autechre are the 2 peel session cds and the new stuff kind of throws me but all artists need to evolve.

i just hate seeing my inspiration sell-out. ae were such innovators, and i feel let down when i see them default so badly over the last few years. they just failed to keep up, imho. its like the old simpsons vs the new simpsons. :)

fanboy
- airey0
yeah that's understandable. but all artists go through phases and they were pushing the limits for quite a while! plus you don't have to stop enjoying the older stuff that inspires you just because the new stuff aint your thing! it's gotta be hard to stay on that edge especially as you get older. man, at least they were relevant once! damn, i'm going to go crawl under my rock and feel unimportant some more lol!
incunabula is one of my favourite cds full-stop plus the gescom stuff is great.

(May 12 05, 21:36)its not about trends. im just looking for quality stuff and they aint it these days.
and re:fanboy - have you seen what i do for a living? :)
- airey0
as a side note, i'd not have ever called the new æ stuff a sellout?!? man, it's more obtuse than ever.
selling out means to go more mainstream (ie: to create for the widest markeet possible to get the cash and run) which aint the new stuff.
my 2cents anyway.
- uberdesigner0
lemme guess-
you sit in front of a computer monitor?
yeah, that'll be fun when you're 50

(May 12 05, 21:44)they pull in $$$$$$. i know 20 smaller artists that blow my mind (after a decade of listening to ae cds) that are lucky to get 30 people at their shows.
but i digress..
- airey0
hey supabaka, love the photos on your site! the colours are great and i love the obscure (window, van side) ones the most.
what camera do you use mainly?
