i was wondering if anyone can tell me how to calibrate my mac monitior so that it will more closely resemble the colrs that a PC user will see? thanks!

why?
with the thousands of monitors there is no way you can calibrate it to pc users. all you can do is calibrate it correctly and hope for the best.

i work for a clothing company and my boss is conerned that when i color correct on the mac it does not look like the actual garment and it looks dramatically different from what she sees on her PC

Then you probably should be calibrating for print, and not her PC.

pc and mac use different gammas, use a tool (for osx) called gammatogglex
you will find it on versiontracker or the like

you could color correct your monitor to my nec but then it's going to look different from the guy next to me on his viewsonic.
best to color correct it to print and help your client color correct here screen as well. chances are hers is stuck on the default setting.

not sure how useful these are, but the Mac System Preferences Color calibration has a choice of Mac, Windows gammas. There's also a Windows and Mac preview in the ImageReady View menu.
