Enter response: Alot of the minimal german stuff is good, the kompakt record label as well as Ghostly/Spectral Artists like Solvent and Matthew Dear, also, Alex Smoke's Incommunicando is is another good one filled with niceness

Electro music, not electronic music, right?
It's as out of style as 1989.

Electro is what dave clarke plays no? Evil breaks with 80's style synths. Maybe electro is something different in the states

clarke=techno
- Meeklo0
when he mentioned, anything but trance, I think he ment to say ELECTRO as in ELECRONIC music, not Electro as in kraftwerk/bambaataa/mantronix
- toe_knee0
clarke used to be techno but he's more electro now

i sometimes don't like to use ELECTRONIC to describe music cuz its such a broad term these days.
but i love the ways people here attempt to describe what is what, discussion and classification is always good, even if some of the music is not.
my use of electro is just short for electronic, i guess. some confuse it with "electroclash", which is a term i can't stand.
wonderfully eclectic suggestions though, except for whoever recommended M83, absolutely rubbish!!!

This is what i would cleaa as electro

I havent heard Clarke spin that recently, but that would suck to see him go completely electro. I can't see him leaving his techno roots, electro just isnt as pumping.
His tech mixes are awesome. only thing I have against dave is that I dont think that some of his latest productions are as good as his old.
I have heard some decent electro mixes by Clarke, as well as Tiga. Not crazy on alot of this crap that sounds too 80s tho.
Richie Hawtin and his label M-nus always have some good spaced out minimal techno to check out, and both of richies mix cds with the 909 and live sampling are very good.
