stock? this site takes no use of any design fad currently being whored. slow? sure. a bit different? probably. stock? no way. point me to one site that resembles this one.

reminds me of nofrontieres stuff from around 5 years ago... I'm on a dell box that is for runnig combustion and has a xeon intel processor, it is over 2Ghz and the site still staggers

Dude- couple things-
1. I'm definately on a PC. Site is slow. Deal with it.2. Whoeever said the site looks stock is totally on the money. In the beginning of the whole Flash boom (2001, I'd say), saw tons of sites that looked similar.
3. You can't make a post asking people what they think of your work, then shoot down all their comments. If you think the site is so hot, why ask for a crit? Don't take it personally dude. Most people just want to help you make it better. No one really ripped into your site cause it's not that bad, but there are issues you should recognize.

By stock I mean it lacks a style. Fonts are blah.
Masked images in circles.

Do you want feedback or not? Seems like you try to explain away everything so you don't have to change it, because you have no intentions of doing anything with this crit.If you were looking for somebody to rub your tummy, you certainly weren't going to get that here.
Your site runs really badly on a brand new IMac G5. I looked at it on my semi new VIAO laptop and its still slow.
The performance is all around pretty bad, and you should look into optimising it better so that your clients don't slap you upside the head when they come to find out it runs badly on the computers of peopel they'll be wanting to show this to.
Aside from that, The white text is totally unreadble to me. Shouldn't that be a big problem?

Most Personal Computers people don't have or can't afford. This isn't a good example of quality planning--which can only lead to a product of the same caliber.

maybe I'm missing something but wouldn't you want to show some work after clicking on 'additional case studies' and reading about the project. Like the caddy study, it mentions some commercials but there is no option to view anything. If the client spec'd that then let me kow but it seems old.

I am in 100% accordance with that statement. I believe it's part and parcel of what we do.
However, under the circumstances, this statement—which ideally was mapped out and planned from the start—begins to look like an afterthought as Shellie said, to "... explain away everything."
