In a facing pages doc, can you number a verso page (left side) with an ODD number or must it be even?
- Hym0
not sure about this method because i never did complex page numbering for print
but if you take the first spread (the one you want numbering to start) and select [keep spread together] then select the verso page and in layout>numbering start numbering at page 1, all left pages should be odd

that is so easy to do in xpress.
mwahahahahahhahahaaahaahhahaaaa... just janking your chain. :)

the odd numbered page will always be on the left.
you can change the initial page to be an even number using 'section options', but this will only make the first page verso.

oh and this is from support, seems specific for book documents, never touched that
"You can start document numbering on odd- or even-numbered pages in booked documents.
Choose Book Page Numbering Options in the Book palette menu.
Choose Continue on Next Odd Page or Continue on Next Even Page.
Select Insert Blank Page to add a blank page to the end of any document in which the subsequent document must begin on an odd- or even-numbered page, and then click OK."
