I'm looking for an education in art direction/graphic design towards advertising in Los Angeles, any suggestions, links?

Paris Hilton School of Art for kids who can't draw.

i go here, in downtown los angeles
decent program, beautiful campus, and 90% of the students are hot girls

i dont know about advertising...
but Art Center and Cal Arts are both great schools for Graphic Design in the LA area

i can definitely vouch for the hot girls at FIDM.
As for advertising...is that where you try to sell people shit they dont need in a clever way?

Don't forget about Otis. It was once Parsons/Otis but it like split off many many years ago into it's own school.
I really wanted to go to oatis. the faculty and the students are really into the learning process and not about themselves.
At many of those other schools.. the falculty is more interested in their own work than they are about you. I think in some situations that can be a problem, especially when you're forking over a lot of cash for that education.

our new portfolio teacher is the head of two record labels and has won 3 grammys for best cd package design
he did the last 5 madonna albums (he's her creative director), sonic youth, aerosmith, the last two beck albums...
we've got some damn fine people teaching here

One of my buddies claims he grew up with the lead singer of the Deftones. All he ever says when the subject gets brought up is, "me and Chino used to get our skate on, dude. " Then one night Chino came into this bar we were in, and I was like, there he is, go say hi to your boy. But he just got all quiet and went to the bathroom.
