Upper Haight...
ESPECIALLY The People's Cafe, Squat & Gobble, OR the cafe with the blue genie on top (can't remember the name off hand, but they make some meeean lavash wrapped yummies. YUM)I like food alot. Also, don't miss hippy hill if you head out to the end of Haight street (and into Golden Gate park) on a weekend day. Once you get past the bums at the entrance to the park, you'll see that Hippy Hill has an ugly, unique little tree nearby (planted by Janis Joplin) plus a bunch of crazy hippies rockin' out with drums and a series of self-made instruments while others trip out on acid dressed in colorful clothing.
It's awesome.
