DVD help

  I'm trying to copy some files from a DVD onto my desktop (it's TIFF files, not a movie) but it says it can't do it because there are files with the same filename on my desktop, whch is not the case.

  Is it that it was burnt on a PC and I work on a Mac? I dunno what to do and I need to finish this work tonight. Any ideas how I can work this out?

  Create a new folder on your desktop and copy to that?

  yeah, try that. or go see someone with a pc and copy and burn it again// on a cdrom if necessary.

  I tried making another folder but that didn't work either there is something wrong about the whole thing. And I don't have access to any PCs, not right now anyway.

  How do you make dmg files? that might be the solution but I haven't got a clue how it works.
