oddly enough, one of the best pieces of advice I've ever received was from Bruce Mau's "Incomplete Manifesto":

Oddly enough, I think of him more as a writer than a designer, and since he ripped that off of someone else then I guess he pretty much sucks at both.

i actually have an evil eye pendant at home, which i stopped wearing after a while. not sure why.
that's awesome that your friend called! I know that feel 100x better after I talk to a friend from NT or a friend calls. Super great.
