Thanks to everyone who gave some feedback with this site I’m working on. I showed it to the client, they loved it, I built the whole homepage out, and now they’ve completely changed their mind about the colors – AHH!
What do you think of this?

i really like the original, but am digging the #8 series like 8C
- brandelec0

the first one with lighter blue bg color is easier to the eye.
did you change the logo? that font is kinda flunky..
- leftwave0
incase it's not obvious, i totally like the original one and i think the others look like the circus puked. my eyes hurt just from looking at them.
anyway, the logo can't be changed - it's on their letterhead, cards, etc.

"no hills" is a feature?
people choose camps based on their levelness?
- leftwave0
haha, well... a lot of camps in the northeast are very hilly and the campers don't like that!

Dude...you're starting to rock it now. Well done, though I liked the original camp font above the girls better. Just needed a bit of kerning.
And that left girl is still creepy...did they want that shot there? In all, nice job.

what happened to the stencil? i'm with usrper. what you get there is flunky. good word for it. i like 3c the best. but i have a question: is this site more for the folks of the kids? or the kids? cause shit is not looking fun, imo

none of them say girls camp to me. it looks like a designer portfolio with trees..
its too 'digitalesque'..
it needs more play.. more curves.. nicer shades of colour..
really, these may appeal to a designer, but not to young girls looking for a funtime..

good cruit vbruo!!!!!
- vburo0
oh yes, i am serious.
you can worry about kerning, but you better worry about the concept first now.
not being a bitch, just trying to help..
- k770
yeah dude, speak the truth!

I say it it needs more pictures of all the girls having fun. I believe the Girl Scouts revamped their look with an image heavy campaign, but more along the lines of the tomboyish thing, to modernize it.
Considering that under the original site these guys liked emphasizing the fun times through images & stuff though, I find that this may prove a good idea.
another post coming up in a minute...

So, Mr. Leftwave, did the camp ever talk to you about what they're looking for via the site?
Are they looking for it to simply be an informational medium? Are they looking to draw in new campers?
And in light of these questions, consider what problems they might have discussed with you, if any. IE: Our enrollment of girls along the ages of 12-14 have been dropping.
In that problem lies an answer as to who to orient the site towards, at least in part.
Have any friends with daughters? Ask them to consider mentioning camp to their kids or that they want to get their opinion on something. Kids love to help (it makes them feel important), so if you really want to know what kids think of it (and their parents) I say that's a great option.
If these are the type that aren't necessarily into camp, but would consider this one based on your work, I'd say you have a winner.
BTW, offer ice cream or something in return. :^)
- k770
yeah man, if the site can give free ice cream, i'll give it 2 thumbs up! i like ice crteam. a lot.
- jevad0
nice work leftwave it;s really coming together. It's nivce to see some new colours being introduced
- jeneraa0
I hope you don't get the same impression as k77. The ice cream should be for the little chicas that give you their opinion. It's only right to give something in return.
- leftwave0
free ice cream for all - thanks for the advice!
