When you save with Embed All Fonts (For Other Applications) checked will the font be embedded when the printer goes to print it? Or should I select Create Outlines? When I select that the type looks worse on the screen. I can't print it right now or I would test Create Outlines.

you need to send a copy of the fonts and the eps files on the same disc to the printer.
if you try to create outlines without the fonts installed on your machine, illustrator cannot convert the ps or ttf files to vectors. that's why your text looks jaggy.

Create outlines, yes, or include the font when you go to print.

i use create outlines and things print fine..this way at least you can be sure that your work wont come back with courier all over it or something..

create outlines is not good to use if you are trying to set a bunch of text, but it's fine for headlines and other less-copy-intensive needs. it actually fattens the text a slight bit when the plates are cut. you won't notice it unless you are running paragraphs at 8 or 9 pt.

Maybe I am being cheap but I just purchased the typeface and don't feel like giving it away for free. Unless printers usually delete them afterwards.?
So I guess that is not the intended function of Embed All Fonts.?.

Yeah, the text that is 9pts looks pretty bad on screen anyway after creating outlines.

printers will delete them, most of them have them already though.
i think the embed option is for things like pdf previews and suitcase and such.

So do they normally keep your typefaces? I guess it's not a bad thing since they will have it if I ever go to them again.

Oh thanks, you had already answered.
