This doesn't answer your question, but...
Forget about the interview! I become utterly nervous when just handing my resume in and conversing with others while doing so. Yesterday I forgot to tell the woman the right hours I can work and I realized it after I had already left the store. I ended up calling her back after I walked home.

I'm really bad a the leaving the interview bit. Are you meant to linger a bit and make polite chat or just bolt for the door and hope they didn't notice?
I hate it.

lol , i bolted for the door.. they showed me out so wasnt too bad, he asked had i had any over interviews on the way out, not sure why.. lol probably cud tell i aint had ne.

same thing occurs when you hand in your application/resume. You give it in and they say, 'okay'. Is that the end? Do you ask questions? *sigh

I use to get nervous for a interview back when I was right out of college, but it's no big deal anymore.

This was your first interview...ever? How old are you, Mark?

I'm with you AD. Outta school I was nervous interviewing. Now I'm interviewing the potential employer.

I think he means his first design interview, right?
I've had around 6 interviews, and not of them have been for design.

Here's a packaing site
http://www.listonplaton.com.au/Its probably been said already but don't see it as an interview. Its just having a chat, and talking through your work. Try to be more relaxed. The more you present your work the easier it gets...

They say smell is important in a interview

You can tell if someone is right out of school if they have a huge portfolio.

gotcha. I always do great at interviews, mainly because I can bullshit like none other.

Bet you don't bullshit as much as the interveiwer?
They really know how to talk bollox.
Don't take what they say as gospel - remember these companies bullshit for a living.

you'll get used to it. never show your fear. be comfortable with yourself.
i've done at least 30-40 interviews in the past, being a freelancer for a long time, i would be at 5-6 different companies on some months. i think that helped my balls to get bigger.

i'm pretty good with interviews...been through a lot of them. my only problem is when people give me shit about moving around alot. in 6 years, i've had 5 jobs. the longest i've stayed anywhere is 2 years. now that i'm getting married i'm looking to stay somewhere for a LONG time. and convincing them of that is what sucks.
- Jaline0
ha. same here. I've moved between 3 jobs in the past 2-3 years. Everytime they question me about that I respond with lame answers, like 'the last job wasn't challenging enough for me', or 'i needed to expand my horizons'.

i hate jerk interviewers.
