Remember those school pen pal projects? I'd like to bring it to the electronic age. I'm looking for a few people out there to converse with... mostly about design, but also about other shared interests. I'm looking to expand my horizons and get exposed to things outside of my area.

http://del.icio.us/jables/I'd like to hear from a few people from a variety of geographical areas. Big cities, small agencies, large corporations, big agencies, print, web, fashion, broadcast. Diversity is a good thing. If all goes good, we'll have a small group of 3-6 to email and discuss. Who knows, maybe it may even lead to some collaboration. At the least we'll learn something. I'm looking for no more than 6 people. So if I hear from more I'll have to make some cuts. So let me know who you are, what you do, what you like. I'm particularly looking for younger designers establishing themselves as I am doing.

awww, that's so cute. you should join online communities like Friendster and Livejournal to meet other designers. And just ask around for people's instant messenging names to get to know them better (which i guess you're accomplishing through this thread).

Those days:
I remember back in my high school days, getting a penpal is like doing an online chatting. (or one nite stand). After 2-4 months of writing, after sending a picture/mugshot, they don't send/reply my snail mail. Gezz

Yeah, i got connected to myspace and friendster. But what's the use of adding more friends but we never chat or write anything to one another.
But these days, I got online penpal by visiting their blogs, and that's how I make friends. I learn to read, share and talk about what's in our mind and life and it's really a great journey. If those who like to make friends, lets trade our blogs to share and read:

vburo, couldn't agree more about Nig. penpals! "Hi.. I'm from bla bla bla... gimmie your damn account cause our family needs help".
So how frequent you get that email? almost everday (*sigh*).
I got few Nigerian's working/studying here. They are nice though sometimes I confuse cause they all wearing like Nas/G-Unit/Nelly with those jersey and blink-blinks. :PSorry, off topic! kill me...
