Have you guys ever thought of putting out an ad to teach people who are interested in learning the tools we use everyday? like photoshop, illustrator, html...etc.
what would be a good hourly rate for teaching?
i want to take a few clients and in the evenings teach them what i know for a couple of hours...would this work?

i do this several times a year, as interest is shown.
if it's one-on-one, as your situation would be, it's typically billed at my standard rate.
it works out pretty well, but the you can't teach design in a few hours, only the tools, and it pretty much shows.

check out craigslist and see what people are willing to pay...i see ads there for this sort of thing from time to time...the best one was "i've just taken a job and told the employer i know dreamweaver and how to build websites. i need someone to teach me this in an evening." sweet...hopefully you can find some more honest clients

i'm going to give it a shot. i would love to teach people and in turn get the satisfaction of seeing people learn and get excited of what's being taught to them.

I have taught people Illustrator in the past, only snag is them purchasing the program, you can use a public library, mine has a design center in it with the Adobe suite.

any numbers as far as a hourly charge?
did you guys basically go through a book with them explaining it deeper or did you form your own lessons based on what the client specified...
