can you summarize?
- vburo0
well the first thing you could do about "that" is to summarize it. i have no idea what this is about.

Nothing, it's human nature.
Interestingly the opposite is believed to have happended in Angkor Watt. Deforestation led to flooding and disease, and ultimately decimated a city once larger than modern New York.

its the 2nd of a 3 part series about global warming.
This installment makes a correlation between climatological data indicating major shifts in the climate matching up with anthropological data about the death of civilizations.
It suggests that we are currently undergoing a major climate shift which could lead to our demise.
Its a long article, but it read extremely fast.

Summary:
Some people cleverer than I am have written a program that models the climate.
They know it is accurate because when they enter data from known events the output of the computer program matches the data from real observations.
Running the computer program to simulate future climate change produces results undesirable for stability and human habitation in many parts of the world.
People dont have enough food or water and die.
In the past, such instability has lead to the demise of large and flourishing cultures.

Maybe you can get Superman to fly around the earth counter-orbitally and turn back time.

..with Cher on his shoulders too.

well. you gotta start somewhere.
i just feel like there isnt nearly enough noise being made about a problem of this scale. millions of people came together in protest of a war they knew was going to happen anyway. why hasnt anything of this sort happened in regards to the climate of our planet?
i think the consequences from a war of nations pales in comparison to what is going to happen when a climate shift occurs. Who knows if a reversal of the process is possible, but we are surely not doing any thing to try.

I don't think producing vinyl stickers would be the best solution, I would opt for maybe paper, or hemp.

I have developed a gentically modified birch tree that can accept an XML file containing text, which it then prints out in varying shades on its leaves and trunk.
I propose that we plant these and use them to advertise the cause against global warming, whilst also reducing the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Unfortunately, this technique is still in development, and the only trees I have developed to maturity have 'array[0]' on them, but Im sure Im getting close.

Isn't global warming going to turn most of the continental US into the tropics? Except for the west, which will be completely wiped out.

global warming means we'd all better learn how to surf.
or grow gills.

Nah, it's not that bad. Hell, it's happened before and we're still here.

I'm just worried about my son dying of thirst. I think I'll invest in a storage shed full of bottled water. My legacy to him.
