when i take something from illustrator and throw it in indesign, the color changes. it says it's the same pantone BUT it dont look like it!
wtf is the deal here? is it going to print all goofy? do i have to change my color settings?
thanks in advance!

and now run away crying out of shame for your ignorance

for the most part you don't have anything to worry about (assuming you are keeping it all in cmyk). it previews weird. but the colors will look fine assuming you have set up your files correctly.

awesome. what is the correct way to set up your files?

oh no, i didn't mean any specific way - i just meant correct according to your project. i work at a mag and everything i do in illustrator is just cmyk, no spot color/pantones and it comes out perfect. i do stuff in illustrator all the time and import it into indesign. works just fine regardless of the odd color preview.
