I need some newstoday help!
Tonight, I'm having a party, but I'm having trouble putting together a kick ass party playlist. Usually I put a bunch of rap and rock tunes together, but I find parties kick more ass when I play one-hit wonder singles that are very easy to sing too (for example, chumawamba)
any help? any singles you think would rock my party?

Oh sorry, I was in the bathroom puking. I saw the word chumbawumba and.. well, one thing led to another.

you'll have to include crooked, evil nine feat. aesop rock. That will get something started.
the strokes seem to be good background party music, maybe some bloc party. I don't know.. fischerspooner's "odyssey" would be a good album on there too.

I think I would leave the party if I heard chumbawumba.

This is a college apartment party with heavy drinking. When that song comes on, the girl's shirts comes off.
Obviously they suck, and that song sucks to listen to when sober, but I'm sorry for not explaing the audience. When you design, you design for your audience (and the mood they will be in). When you make a playlist, you build it around your audience. The audience tonight will include a lot of wannabe-80's and 70's vintage OC girls, so novelty songs rock their minds.
I have no idea what these girls want, but they dance and scream and get wild when Bon Jovi, Queen, and that one Chumbawamba song comes on.
If this party was just a kick back with friends, I would play something completely different.

If you want to please the ladies, you absolutely MUST play "Hypnotized" by Notorious BIG. There's a myth that if you turn it off around a girl they'll get grumpy.
A friend tested it on me & told me after I got grumpy. Turd! Maybe I truly WAS hypnotized by the song, though. *shrug*
Also, Bloc Party's track "Banquet" rocks like mad.
