can anyone PLEASE recommend a good XML book that is written toward Flash MX?
i just picked up one tonight and i'm returning it tomorrow! it was written for Flash 5, and poorly written to boot.
thank ya!

thanks version - found one in that search that might work.
THOUGH ... i hate that about NTers in general - that crap of linking a google/amazon search.

The NT Maturity Award goes to
VERSION3!!!!
- version30
i 'd like to thank everyone at NT that helped make this possible. that's right you know who you are, no need for me to name names.
the award is kinda heavy though, and it stinks, did someone just give me a bag of dirty diapers with winner written in sharpie on it, cuz that's what i'm holding

my posts are extremely relevant, because i'd like to know how you "accidently" buy a book for flash 5, apparently you haven't read up and you don't pay attention so anything i liked is appropriate.

this is good:

funny - that's actually the one that i'm going to look for tomorrow. nice choice.
not that your link is irrelevent, but maybe a little dismissive.
(ie: if you've never used Flash w/ XML, don't post a link to amazon - if you have and like a book - by all means, link to that...)

deal yo-
that is a good book though :)

why do you need a book to learn XML?? It's like the simplest concept ever.
- lcl_580
dunno toastie - guess i like the warm fuzzy feeling of going through the tutorials and learning from the 'experts'.
but i'd probably get similar results looking at online examples and tutorials.
thanks ya'll...

i just went through a whole fiasco trying to learn how to make an xml object in flash, and seriously, the tutorials i found all over the net were poorly documented and (a lot of times) amazingly too complex for my needs. i got the know how from the NT community and got my learn on :)

Personally I think you don't need a book to understand XML. At least XML with Flash, since the more advanced xml stuff like schemas will not be required...
