what kind of programming do you do?
It might be well to look for a IDE specifically for your needs.

i do from PHP, and scripting ones to Python, Ruby, etc.
Dreamweaver sucks for coding, men. Why spend lots of resources in graphical bullshits?

I generally use BBEdit or VIM. They arent necessarily high-tech, but they work for me.
VIM is open-source, with lots of keyboard shortcuts, made for linux, unix, osX, windows.
BBEdit is ust for osX.TR1

cool, I'll give a try to BBEdit.
I use Vi in my linux based server, and it's kinda difficult to learn all the shortcuts and these, but seems to be faster to use if you get deep into it behaviour.

jEdit, is great, but it's java based, then it's slooooooow to load and pretty resource eater

gvim on windows is easier than straight vi/vim.
