So I was sitting on a café earlier today with my computer waiting for a buddy to show up. I'm browsing NT while sipping coffe and i overhear a conversation between two girls a few tables away.
".. I'm telling you. it goes like Tock! Where does it come from!!" "THERE! Did you year it?" "No - whaat?" "Ah, geez, listen!" "I think it stopped" "No there it is AGAIN!" "I think its your shoes!"
And it hit me. It was me hovering the refresh button who made the Tock! sound. So I kept teasing them for about 10 minutes before my homie showed up.
Got any stories about you and NT vs. people around you?

that happens to me every time i had to shut my volume off completely so people always know when i am at nt at werk, by the 'tock'tock'tock' sounds!

a couple of years ago i was surfing NT at work and my boss asked what i was doing. i said i was reading up things on a design discussion board. he made a strange face and said that i shouldn't be doing anything other than work and if he sees me on that site again i would get fired.
sure enough he wasn't kidding. who knew.

but seriously, my brother was enormously annoyed before whenever he heard the NT jingle. he couldn't understand where it was from.

the IT department decided to do an audit on internet use at my old company, my boss was like "there is one person, you know who you are, is going to over 800 web pages a day". he was talking to me, and i was only going to one webpage! newstoday! i guess everytime you click refresh or broadcast etc it counts as one page... i quit a week later.
