I am going insane over here. I am sick of Helvetica. If I have to use it one more time, I am gonna burn the place down!

for the next year and a half i am forced to use agent orange as it is our chosen font for our advertising campaign.
if you haven't heard of it it's a lot like comic sans, but bubblier. oh, and the best part, if you choose black, it's only an outline, which means you have to go back and lay white underneath it so it looks like white text with a black outline.
i'm almost going to lose my mind.
i fought tooth and nail and the suits picked it cause it was 'fun'. AAAAH!

i have rarely used helvetica in any of my works. the most ridiculous thing i have seen here and there, even on corporate sites is to use helvetica as a body font at 10px or even 9!! helvetica ain't right for that shit.. ugly as f*. use verdana ffs.
also, one of my recent clients had an ID that i was to modify, it did not even contain a logo, just helvetica in strict swiss grid layout. that was sort of an oddity in a way for me, as often you'll see the other way around.
i kept the helvetica though, just designed the logo around it..

I thought I could sneak futura (I know it's not that much better) into a piece this morning had to change it to, you guessed it Helvetica.

Once I cried because something was wrong with my computer and the only font that would appear was the ugliest font ever (can't remember the name, but it was hard to read).
I turned the computer off, tried to calm down, and when I turned it back on everything was normal again. I guess it was just possessed or something.

ok do this.
1. Print out every character of Helvetica and on the top of this print-out write DIN or Univers
2. Put print-out on refridgerator door and make sure to look at it at least 50 times a day.
that way, you trick your barin into thinking it's something else when it isn't

There are starving designers in the UK who will work just to use Helvectica.
