I am thinking of having a prepaid reply return card attached to my CV (perforated) when I send it out to prospective employers.
Do you think this is a good idea?
NB. This would not be used for job applications but just for mail outs.

I would think they'd call if they were interested.

Do you not think that it would prompt a response and perhaps some feedback?

Well... I guess that would be your call. But what I am correlating it to are those cards restaurants (&other places) leave for you to fill out asking how your experience has been. They're kind of a waste, in my opinion. If you have a complaint, you talk to someone directly. If you enjoyed it, you leave a tip.
Or, in your case, contact you by phone or email.

right, sounds like a waste of money. I don't know anyone that was given a job by mail.

for restaurants, they're a subterfuge for building a mailing list

Thing is I am not going in asking for a job (as there may not be one available). This is mearly an introduction, something for people to take notice of.
Cost is no problem as I am doing it all by hand.
*Bump for the UK lot*

i think its slightly different from the norm and differentiate you from others if done well. for that reason it may be worth adding in, although i doubt anyone would use it.

I think it's not worth it. Usually you get a call and then a letter on their notepaper and they can pay for their own postage, why waste your own money?
To be honest, the cv's I get with rsvp self-addressed envelopes seem a little needy. Be strong and confident that they will call or email.
The last couple of jobs I got were through phonecalls backed up with official statements.

If you have what they want for the job, you will get it. If you don't, you won't. regardless of the cost of stamps.

Even if I want to go in for a chat or "informal interview" to meet them, find out more about their company and gain advice on my book and how to be more successful, etc...
Sounds like I might take it off then :/

Just to add – My CV is an A5 booklet showing how you could have a Dance in your studio, the reply card will be attached to the back cover folded in asking if they want to learn more about this Dance.
NB, if you get my CV from my website you can kind of understand what I'm getting at

*Bump for more opinions.

Bump once more, sorry I would really like to know peoples opinions on this as I am about to send 5 out

Mr Dance,
I quite liked the idea. To be fair it saves them writing you a letter and if it's done well would be a nice twist.
ps you can get rollers to perf, so you don't need to do it with a scalpel...
Yo, BTW
