paralell parking, don't speed through playground zones, don't run yellow lights etc

I'm proud of my parallel parking skilllllzzz. haha.

As far as I can remember.... keep in mind this is 5 years ago and many bong hits later.
Took me for a tour on the highway.. get on, change lanes, drive a bit, change lanes get off at the next exit. No Parrallel park. Lots of driving in areas with many lanes of traffic. Don't forget your shoulder/mirror check on every turn. I did well by talking to the examiner, I cleared it with him first, just because I like to explain my thinking (example right turn with a car parked close: make a quick lane change or turn wide) that way you can also show your thought process. Just like math class.
ALSO... I took a two hour lesson from an instructor, focusing only on the G2 requirements. They usually know the drill, and this guy even took me around the actual area they did the test. Best $50 I ever spent. (

Wicked, going to stay tuned to this myself. I am 20 and I am only doing my first driving lesson tomorrow! About time.

When I was looking for an instructor, i just called around and tried to get an idea of what they were like as instructors, what they recommended I learn for the G2, and if they were familiar with the test for the driving centre I wanted. I recommend the Keele location for those in the Toronto area... Vic Park is booked forever.

i know you're allowed to ride on the highway after you get your G2, but do they ask you to drive on it during the test? it wouldn't make sense because you're not allowed to drive on it with just a G1.

jaline. not sure if this part is the same up there, but i failed the part where the guy asked me to pull into a drive, then back out on the street and drive the oposite direction.
i failed because as a law, if you pull into a driveway or a street or alley, as you back up you should stop before the crosswalk/sidewalk... look for pedestrians, then stop again before backing into the street... look for cars. then proceed.
that was 14 years ago though. :)

you mean the 3-way stop, k0na? i've practiced that a bit too because they may ask me to do that.

Are trying to get your G2? or is it your G2 exit test (for your full license)
Get G2: They take you around a quiet area, make you turn, stop, cross railroad tracks (cover the break!) back into a parking lot type spot. Take you on one multi lane area to get you to change lanes... . Don't drive too slow (get up to close to the speed limit at a normal pace).
If it's this test ... it's a snap, if you are a relatively good/confident driver you will have no problems.
just remember SMOG (signal, mirror, over the shoulder, GO) all turns and lane changes and you're gold

we call the exit test a G I think. So I'm just taking the G2. I have two questions. Do you definitely have to drive on the highway (during the test), and do you have to drive into a parking spot in reverse?
- DragKng0
If it's the G2, no highway (that is for the G) ... but for sure you will have to park in a | | type spot in a parking lot.... I would practice forward and backwards just in case.. they made me back in.
but totally get an instructor for one hour if you're nervous about it all.
U can do it.

thanks everyone
