What size is your site??

I have a problem. My boss wants an 'expandable site' - one that changes depending on your screen size.
My argument against this is there is little control over design elements, especially when there is very little content per page.
I know there is no right or wrong.. what are your thoughts on the matter? What size should websites be!?

There is no real benefit from fitting to window size and a few negatives such as layout. It is much easier with flash although that can get complex too!!

fobb them off with nice background/page elements that do the full stretch and persuade them to keep the content at least more or less static - I find clients say they want relative sized content areas but are perfectly happy just to have graphic elements fill the window...

I think that it should be resizeable as much, as it can be.
In fact, Standards provide for that.:)

i like an expandable site. don't design it so set on size, it'll make you cry later.

I just did a flash intro that is 4.8mb. Huge for an intro. That's what they wanted. It has 5 videos playing at once with music.
