also...a little workflow hint...i usually keep the css in the head of the template (x)html page until i have everything the way i want it and bug fixed...then i create an external file...for me it is easier to work in one large (but well commented) file than to keep saving versions of multiple files...oh, i know the validation tools get crapped on for being nerdy and self indulgent, but they have helped me many times...it won't let you know if your site looks the same everywhere, but it will tell you if your syntax is messed up

Slight issue with safari ignoring the word-spacing property but iy will show you how you can generate a layout using just CSS and XHTML. Poke around.
