I'm looking for your suggestions on cheap/good accomodation in these cities that you may have experienced urself or heard of from a friend.
Some where central to sites/sounds (art/design galleries, cruisy bars - maybe a club, good food) & transport.
I'm an absolute stranger to these cities having never been to the states before so all suggestions/advice is very welcome and good referrals may be rewarded with free beer* :)
I got SF for a week, LV a week and NYC for 2 weeks.
*Free Beer dependant on fundage in my wallet at specified time.

yeah dude thanks, but i'm actually looking for personal recommendations.
for instance if you came to sydney i'd be able to tell you to stay away from kings cross and get better accomodation either in the eastern suburbs or surry hills/paddington. there's galleries and good food in both surry hills and paddington with really cruisy laid back bars with good looking ladies.
or for someone on a tighter budget perhaps newtown or broadway, with still good food and bars with cheaper beer.see a recommendation like that are worthy of my free beer offer.
particular areas and perhaps a more specific place of stay.thanks anyhoo Ponyboy

The Phoenix hotel:
crap neighborhood, but cool hotel

How many hotels can claim that Keanu Reeves, Linda Ronstadt, Sinead O’Connor, John F. Kennedy Jr., Faye Dunaway, and David Bowie have graced their mattresses (no, silly, not all on the same mattress!)? How many hotels have become the crash pad and launching pad for world-renowned bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana and Pearl Jam; and up-and-comers like Norah Jones, Pete Yorn and Hoobastank?Hotel Diva
