ok here is my honest opinion, i have not read the other posts yet. so i feel i will be good...
the black outlines are too thick and make the wording 'maxim' disappear from a distance of not that far...the consumer has to be able to see it from a distance so that it catches their eys and then make tham want to purchase it.
dont get me the wrong way but when i look at that shirt i feel its used and old, theere is no armhole sleeve on one side while the other has like 3cm...do the shirts you wear look like that? thats scary, you have illustrated a wrinkled t-shirt yet your print iss oddly floating above flat...its strange, i realize in the end of the day it just an illy to sell the idea of your world your fashion, i only look aat it as a not so storng enough illy to make me want to stop and actually purchase it as it dosnt look all the way appealing as the strength of the graphic is achieved the t-shirt rendering should be just as equal... the 2 colourways on the shirt work well with each other but that print may need a dithering over it, making it look more weathered as the time frame of the print art suggests. its like the 50's rockabilly beach party...maybe a blue or peach coloured t-shirt would be stronger, white sucks, white is the background colour of the desktop artboard used in all design programs, its not there as a fill!!!
push yourself more!
you are almost there!grrrr!

woah.. e-pill.. the name sez it all.. ;o)
jks
i appreciate your comments.
the template was obviously drawn in haste and isnt really that important i dont think. though i geuss you'll agree its better than the standard template offered by threadless.
as a small gif, i agree you loose alot of detail in the print, especially the word maxim. but in actual size its quite legible i made sure of it.
as for the white, i dont think it sux. i would prefer a colour t myself, but in thinking of the criteria i thought white would be most fitting. when your thinking of a colour thats gotta look good on 100 beautiful women being photographed in any environment, i think nutural is the right way to go, and grey and black? not so apealing.
im not defending it as the best t-shirt ever designed, i think its ok. overall it just seemed like something that may be seen in a magazine such as Maxim. i also played with a texture over it to emphasise the genre but it really subtracted from the detail and dithering and splatters are so overdone. not to mention clean retro/artdeco prints are in fashion right now so again it seemed like a suitable entry.
thanx for taking the time dude.
keep the votes coming..cheers.

just imagine every other guy plugged a threadless design here but ignoring that i still think your strategy is wrong because NT public might be more critical than the average threadless voter, so vote count may go up with a few but score down.
maxim and computerarts mag, bad direction if you ask me.
