is this a known bug? it works fine on the macs! its just consuming a lot of my time trying to help her as she s new to illy!

can you upload an example file? i'll try to export a pict
a quick test reveals that i can export to pict and view
you may need quicktime installed on the pcs
if you already do, i dont have any other guesses

why pict? maybe you could at worse case, export as a different format and create a photoshop action to open, convert, resize and save as pict? sorry if that's no help at all!

hi airey, its for a massive director movie, which will read all the picts externally. all the coding has been done so really we need to save them as picts.
my only suggestion was to export them all as tiffs from illy and then make a photoshop action.
i cant really help my colleague as it must be a glitch in the windows version as it works fine on the macs, i will find out if quicktime is installed though! cheers for the help
if anyone else as any ideas gimmie a shout!

but why not do it through PS. It's not that big of a work.

illus to pict retains vector information
the save to a bitmap from illus then convrt to pict in photoshop would be an enormous loss of quality

PDF? - Keeps vectors!
pict is bad! bad! bad!

But maybe try to do it through Freehand. I don't know FH at all but i know that it eats Illustrator files without transparency.
just a thought

the reason she was doing it in illustrator is because she was gonna make a template. she needs about 100 different versions and it is easier to update.
we have decided to export as a jpg and change the cod in the director movie
cheers for all of you help/suggestions
