I need to make a movie file that has a static background with over a thousand names scrolling across it. It's for a memorial service.
What do people use to make movie credits? Any ideas???
I've done this before in Flash but that caused a ton of other issues.
The main problem I run into is it's a THOUSAND lines to scroll... and most programs can't handle that many

is it for broadcast?
can you use afx?

Well it's just going to run in the background at a ceramony. The thought was to make a DVD movie and play it through a projector.
The video guy in our office came by and asked me for help. Whatever program he uses can only hold up to the letter G. urghh..

instead of putting 1000 in one set can you break it up into 4 or 5 sets? as set 1 is almost finished then have set 2 begin and so on.

yea break it up like kOna said
may be even a nice pic or something for the breaks?

..that was my suggestion, but the video guy said it wouldn't be seamless.
Could I make something in Premiere or After Effects to do this? I just have the basic knowledge of these 2 programs.

you can do this in premier. make a title and it'll scroll everything blabla you can change the speed/settings and such.
