need it to be two colour using a spot colour
how would you go about this, i'm having trouble getting the white at the top of the circle

measure the orange circle and just re-create it in the spot color that you need.

Why dont you just create a 'flat' version of the logo, without the 3d and drop shadow effects.? Just a plain, flat, two color, black and yellow / orange, logotype.?
