Anyone here in the UK had to pay a customs charge when they deliver through royal mail!!!! our tshirts are at the post office and they want 17 quid to release them
- Hym0
it's EU regulation (some countries are more flexible on it than others)
threadless could avoid it by shipping as promotion materal or gift but they dont
- DavidFelt0
So theres nothing I can do???
I have had tshirts before and not had to pay, the tshirts are only wortha tenner, but i have to pay an extra 17quid!!!!! no way, they can send the fuckers back!!!!

Uk customs work at random, only a relative small percentage of the small packages are controlled and taxed if needed.
it's the import lottery, in belgium the percantage is a lot higher therefor i have ways around
Order it, shipping address to a buddy in the US and let him send the package as gift, this wont work with big boxes tho, so you still have to make a trip to buy a powerbook :)
17pound sounds like a calcualtion error, i would go check it out, goods under 20EUR or something arent taxed

Yep that sounds a blittle too much. I just got my Threadless t-shirts through, they're waiting at the local delivery office for me now.
I ordered four t-shirts and Royal Mail want £7.73 for them. Which I'd rather they didn't, but that's only an extra two pounds per tee , which is acceptable.

yeah it is random.
I've had a few threadless Ts with no problems.
- DavidFelt0
Ive ordered 4 too, but they want 17 pounds, thanks for that, im gonna contact the post office and telkl them that you only need to pay 7 quid, its well out of order

Good stuff Dave, let me know how it works out for future customs/Threadless order reference.

Just got hit for that £7.73 magic figure on some shirts too. Not as bad as the £40 I was hit with when I bought an $80 bag from the US last year though.
But then, we're into 'fair trade' rather than 'free trade' aren't we? I mean, we're just protecting our market from unfair cheap labour...

(Apr 11 05, 05:37)what about products that aren't available in Europe ?
- Rickbass0
But there are plenty of t-shirt designers in Europe?
I'm starting a new movement: European designers buy european.
- Monokai0
Damn is this their new policy or something? I orderd a bunch of tees (I live in NL) and now Royal mail wants €50,- on top. Bought before but never had any problems then.
- ********0
yeah don't complain make your own. although you guys charge too much for yours over there on average
- Monokai0
...yeah that's partially why I went to threadless in the first place. Too bad things evened out eventually. Ah well, I'm not complaining. It was just a strange & unpleasant surprise that's all.

isn't there a television ownership tax in the UK as well?
