Has anyone here done their family tree? Did you find anything interesting? How far back did you trace it?

Not personally but my great Aunt did a lot of research. The Macgregors go quite far back apparently. Who would have thought it? Can't do my mothers side though. She was adopted so all we know about her biological mum is she was 15 and from dufton. Classy.

my grandpop did is some year back, and he could trace back to 1470 something, he couldn't go back any further because the chuch burned down along with the books containing names and birthdays in 1465..
he made a 90 page long book about it on his old typewriter
wish i had the patience to do stuff like that

my dad and his dad found our name in the lists of tribes that escaped egypt (nehemiah) and they traced us back to it. incredible effort!

My mum and sister are doing it just now. They found out how my granddad (who I never knew) died.
He was driving a double-decker bus back in the 50s when he went into a corner and the bus started to topple. He tried to jump out at the last minute before it fell over and was crushed under it.
Ouch!
