hi
my second question of the day.
say i have a logo, and i just want the text in the logo in illustrator. how do i make a knock out of this? like, for a certain part to be cropped so i can do things in illustrator...
i tried export assistant in photoshop but it doesnt seem to work.

just create 2 dinamic text fields with the same variable name. when 1 changes (type here) the other one with the font embeded will to.

ok. so you have a jpg or something of the logo and you only want the text part of the logo?
crop out the crap you don't need in photoshop.
or are you asking how to 'erase' the eps stuff you don't want? not sure. take the pen tool and select the one with the minus and get to work taking out the crap you don't need.
or. basically, i don't ahve enough info to go off of to give you a solid answer.

does the text have it's own color? may be you can extract the channel?

yea its one color, thats why i can just crop it out in photoshop, but i dont know how to bring that in in illustrator

aaaaah so
when you have your selection, in the Paths palette, hit 'create path from selection', name your path
file>export>paths to illustrator
