Whats the deal with Chicago? Why are there no smoking hot creative houses like Big Spaceship or the like. Just corporate agencies doing corporate work.
If you know of any, drop a line, Ive designed my last portal....

Because Chicago industry sectors don't have those types of clients?
They got Banks, some Manufacturing and Business Services.

chicago is huge for banks, real estate and financial corporations.
very few large design houses.
seven i remember but i'm not sure if they are still around. i forget the name of a place or two i interviewed at a year ago. just off wacker and michigan ave. playboy is probably your best bet. i have a few design freinds who have been trying to get in there for years. very tough.

they do really hot work and i've been to their studio and they are super laid back. plus they include their dog on their employee page.

i'm going to be going there for a few days this month. mostly i'll be doing work, but i'll have most of one day to see the sights.

my wang. on a good day it can be seen from 7 miles while atop the sears tower.check it out.

the museum of modern art
the art museum (of course)
millenium parkshops:
belmont and clark for indy clothes you won't find anywhere else. lots of black. (if you're into that)
watertower place - more upscale. nice place to visit too.sights:
stroll down the magnificent mile and look at all the stuff you can't afford.
sears tower. it really is a great view of the city.
go to the hancock building and have lunch/drink at the bar on the top. it's a great view of the city and a decent bite to eat.bars:

Not to knock Big Spaceship, as they seem to be able to pull off some quality work, but does anyone else find it annoying that you need to cock your head to read their site? Or was that the intention? Seems they do a lot of Hollywood work... movie websites. Good stuff. Anyhow, if the lack of "smoking hot" creative houses in Chicago annoys you perhaps this could inspire you to capture an open market. Sounds like a plan to me.
