Has anyone here got a printed advert in the Yellow Pages, just wondering if its good value for money.

Yeh i did - possibly on of the worst things i've done. Lead to alot of plumbers and double glazing wanting to spruce up their images. The best remark I ever got was why do we need a guy with specs doin'a logo - nice.
btw turn the yellow pages upside down...hmmm what really is going on at the yellow pages?

Hehe, another happy customer, anyone got/had a yellow pages ad. if not, can anyone recommend other forms of advertising for a New Media Design company and tips on approaching new clients.
Thanks

i would think the web would be your best bet...right?

i think its worth it to put up an image ad in the yellow pages, because you have a guaranteed customer. they are looking for your services. when i source venders for shit i always call the numbers in the ads first.

I think you might want to focus on a target group of businesses and clients you WANT to have...and start marketing to them directly. If I were a reputable business I wouldn't go to the yellow pages to see what is available. I would talk to other business people and see who they use. So get in their faces.

pfft. just remember its a hell of a lot easier to turn down business than it is to drum it up

Word of mouth is your best bet...

I did a small mark for a friend who was putting an advert in the yellow pages. Phoned up the wifey I was meant to be sending it to.
Me: "What format would you like it in?"
Wifey: "Word"
Me: "Word?? are you having a laugh?"
Wifey: "No, we get them in word, I print them out and then the design department scans them in".
Me: "oh dear.... oh dear oh dear oh dear".

better to spend about 100K on a bunch of fake Yellow Book and just put yuor advert on every single page and deliver them yourself to your target audience.
