they dont look like projections to me.
the images seem too flat. wouldn't light wrap around the circular shape? [see brick image for example]

===========In order for the light to wrap itself around the ball, it must be send for every side of the ball, but here the light source is the same, therefore the projected image is and will be flat on whatever surface you project it on
