Hey, maybe somebody here can help me. I'm trying to add a perspective to text to give it the illusion it's written on the side of a building, but I can't seem to get it to distort well. In photoshop, there's a simple "skew" command that would achieve this effect, but I can't seem to find anything similar, that I can control with some precision, in illustrator. Any suggestions?

use envelope distort with warp, but you won't be able to edit the text afterwards (flatten transparency or expand appearance afterwards to get outlines).

Does hotdoor work with text? I thought that was only for shapes...
