Illustrator Vs Freehand

  In Freehand, you can paste anything into a selected path. Is there a way to do that in Illustrator?

  you have to select the path and the other element and create a mask.

  Paste the object you want to be inside behind the path. Select the path and the object you want inside the path. From the app menu: Select -> Clipping Path > Make (or hit Ctrl7)
