Im looking to get a simple sewing machine, but i don't know anything about the subject. Can anyone recommend brands or a good place to get info? I don't need a professional one, something up to $300.

you can buy a small 'surger machine' it is a small 3 spooled macheine that cuts and sews at once. it is oerfect for making small leather goods, pillows, wallets, bags,and toys. or goto any sears and just plow thru the real techy machines by 'singer' or 'juki'.
