If anyone wants a GMail account, I see I have about 50 invites available. If you want one, drop me a note and I'll forward one to you:
Cheers!

I don't see why they bother with numbering them. You send out four of them and BAM! they reset you to 50 again.

I am wondering if they aren't using this as some sort of research into another type product.....
I mean like some sort of viral marketing experiment....
The other day on google.com they had a link that anyone that day could sign up with google without an invite.....what I would like to know is.....its been over a year.....why aren't they just taking it out of beta and releasing it like hotmail or something......
- dbloc0
they are probably slowing letting it grow. They are giving out a shitload of space. I can't image how many servers that takes.

remember back a few months ago when a gmail ivite couldn't be had for love nor money...

well I dont think the average user uses the amount of space allotted......I think they "overbook" for lack of a technical term......
I have only 500mb of space on my web host but I have 6 email accounts that I have given to people with 200mb each.... I have only run out of space a few times and it was always my fault....lol

It's not because its a beta that you have to sign up, its a genious web/marketing technique.
The fact that you can only sign up by invitation gives you a status of "vip" or something like that, the truth is that there are a lot of emails proviers out there that are free, offer more space and better services, but nobody cares, you want to be "invited" to use gmail.
I say GENIOUS!
