It's a tough sell...
the overall look and feel probably appeals to corporate businesses most - who are hard to convince to use small agencies for design. Smaller businesses that are probably the main audience for your marketing pitch like to see more bells and whistles (even if the bells and whistles arn't the best approach, it's what they look for when looking for a designer).

I'm not sure if I agree with the "crap" termonology - it's a non-serious approach presented in a serious looking design.
