What in the hell am I doing wrong.
I just exported something out of After - Effects ... about a minute and fifteen seconds of video and audio (320 x 240) and I thought I had reduced quality enough but it exported out at 235megabytes... which is a little excessive. I have watched videos of this length several times on the internet.. and they're never this large.
Any suggestions on what I need to do with my export settings to fix this problem.

WOW 235 MEGS??? what is it? the histoy channel in 1 minute?
When you export check on your Render Preferences, look under Video and there is where you can do your compression, experiment with all the different options you have.
If it is going to be on the web and you have access to flash, you can also import into flash and compress even more. you will have to export as SWF but if you dont mind.
Now if you want to do a stand alone you can download the trial version of DIVX pro and compress even more.
Hope that helps

I'd export to quicktime mpeg 4 high quality, should be a nice filesize.

discreet media cleaner, or whatever the hell it is called these days. I think the company got bought. search for that, it is exactly what you are looking for.

I guess I'm going to have to do it with a 3rd party app... cause after effects can't squeeze it out small and clean... thanks guys for the help. I'll post another thread in a second with the video output... its sweet and totally non-design related.
